From October 25 to 29, 2023, Coruña played host to the 29th edition of the World Music Expo, better known as Womex. This must-attend event brought together musicians, music industry professionals and enthusiasts from all over the world, transforming the city into a hub of global musical diversity.This annual event, dedicated to world music, once again proved its status as an essential crossroads for artists, industry professionals and international music enthusiasts.
Womex once again demonstrated its power to transcend borders and build bridges between cultures through music. From exotic rhythms to traditional melodies, the diverse program offered an immersive musical experience, reflecting the richness and variety of the world's musical heritage.
This year's edition featured captivating performances by musicians from the four corners of the globe. From the Afrobeat rhythms of West Africa to the haunting melodies of the Middle East, each concert was an immersive exploration of the richness and variety of the world's musical cultures.
Womex conferences and workshops also provided a stimulating platform for discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing the global music industry. From debates on preserving traditions to exploring new trends, Womex was the place where creative minds and key players shared their ideas and expertise.
At the heart of this edition, Womex celebrated not only world music, but also cultural diversity and the importance of connectivity between peoples through art. Participants were immersed in a world of sound where borders were erased, and music became the universal language of unity.
Specializing in the artistic management and promotion of emerging artists from all over the world, Manag'Art made a significant contribution to the diversity and quality of the performances presented at the event, by taking part in meetings with Chinese entrepreures organized by Sewem. But also by taking part in a discussion with Karolina Juzwa, Mathilde Sallez and Daga, on the theme of "Cooperation for sustainable artistic circulation", highlighting the importance of ecological issues at the heart of the artistic process.
